Our Water Plant
The Water Treatment Plant was constructed to treat water from the Lower Tamiami aquifer. The new Nanofiltration facility is designed to accommodate a future membrane process train expansion to meet future development needs of the community.
The Treatment Plant
Raw Water Wells
Water is drawn from three production wells. Two wells are located on the water treatment plant site.
Water Well
Pretreatment Systems
Raw water is pumped from the wells to the treatment facility where it is filtered to remove any particles of sand. The water chemistry is adjusted to the proper levels to optimize treatment.
Cartridge Filter
Chemical Feed Building
Membrane System
Following pretreatment, the membrane system feed water pressure is boosted and applied to the membrane trains to produce the high -quality product water.
Membrane Train
Post-Treatment Systems
The final steps in the treatment system consist of striping the remaining gases from the product water and chemical adjustment.
Degasifier Tower
Finished Water Storage and High Service Pumping
The membrane product water is pumped to a 1.5 million gallon ground storage tank. From the ground storage tank, the finished potable water is pumped into the distribution system under automatic distribution system pressure control. The high service pumps are used to deliver water to the customers and are designed to maintain pressure throughout the distribution system.

Support Systems / Emergency Power Generation
In the event on a power failure, an emergency generator will supply power to operate the Treatment System and High Service Pump Station.
Emergency Power Generator
The SCADA system provides the operation staff the ability to monitor and control the entire system along with collecting operational data that will be used in optimizing the process.
